Learn about some of the questions we get here at Texas Acid regarding the cost, operations, safety, and more
This system is designed to be a delivery system only, not to add additional costs to the AFE. So there is no added expense to the AFE
The cost savings is calculated by temperature changes. It is done job by job using Raw HCl at 60degrees(Pre Job). Since there is no way to predict temperature ahead of time we calculate how much raw is needed for the job at 60degrees(Industry standard) and then calculate how much raw product is left over at the end of the job(Temperature on the fly adjusted). This In turn will give you the total amount that was saved for the next pad vs. the 60 degree industry standard that everyone is currently being billed.
Since the system works off of RAW product and it stays in RAW form until it is blended we are able to move the RAW from pad to pad via transports. This eliminates the days of having to pump over, neutralize, and dispose of tank bottomset, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua ut enim ad minim veniam quis nostrud exercitation.
We bill our acid as an all inclusive price. Meaning the historical way to bill acid was to have the acid at one cost, break the inhibitors out into separate costs, and have another cost for trucking/transport all separate. This confuses E&P’s and doesn’t give a true cost and we weren’t happy with the way it has historically being billed. So we decided Streamlining it to make the process easier. So At TIAS we bundle everything up into one set per gallon cost. Where all inhibitors, transportation, blending system, and bulk tank are all in 1 per gallon cost. We charge market rate for the product which is region specific(What youre likely currently paying via frac/pumpdown).
The system is designed with the safety of the field personnel in mind. The unit has adjustable flush volumes and is designed to stay on water after the acid pad until the Pump Operator, Blender Tender/ Pumpdown Operator request the system to shut down or it sees no discharge flow and will automatically shut down. No longer will be the days of field personnel having to fear getting acid on their bodies, lungs, face, or in their eyes. Which coming from the field side is a huge relief. You cant put a price on the safety of a person just trying to do a job and go home at the end of the day to their families unharmed.
Depending on location area, the entire system can be rigged up and ready to go in under 1hour with a single man
After the system is rigged up by TIAS Staff, TIAS will preset the volume and target HCl concentration per pump schedule along with the flush volume. This can be password protected to prevent accidental changing of values during ops. E&P reps on site are also given the password should they want to change target concentration or volumes during Operations(ie. One stage at 15%, next stage at 12.5%, next stage at 5% or any number in-between etc..). This can be done on the fly at anytime.
Frac or Pumpdown Operator via Wired Control box or from the unit physically
TIAS will monitor the acid tank level via remote viewing/on location to ensure that the correct volumes are planned throughout the job so there is no downtime.
Yes, The system is programmed to run both HCl and HCR7000 in the correct doses on the fly.
This system is designed to have back up redundancy manual valves that are specifically designed and made for 40% HCl(This is not your standard run of the mill butterfly valves that are predominantly ran on every frac pump or pumpdown unit that leak). Not only are the electric and air actuated valves able to be manually operated via bypass switches, but there are also full manual valves to double back up.
Once the presets are input, the system has 1 touch screen button the Operator will use for all operations. Button 1. “Initialize”(When this is pressed the Suction Vent Valve is opening, and the Acid Suction line valve is opening) 2. “Start Mixing”(Motors will being blending to requested target concentration) once the volume of the target concentration and preset flush volume is achieved unit stays pumping water at a constant discharge pressure until operator hits button again to “Stop Mixing” or unit sees no discharge flow(Ground personnel swapped valves). There is also an emergency shut down switch that if switched will slam all electric and air actuated valves closed and shuts down power to the motors instantaneously.
